1943 | “Irie Chemicals works” and “Tohna works” were merged to establish “Nippon Inorganic Colour & Chemical Co., Ltd.” At that time, the new company mainly engaged in manufacturing molybdenum compounds and tungsten compounds for military use. |
1945 | Since the head office and Sendagaya factory were burnt down due to war disaster, the head office was moved to the present factory site. Restart was stepped out into the manufacture of industrial chemicals after World War II, by making best use of the past technologies and experiences as well as by starting the manufacture of inorganic pigments. |
1947 | The Company succeeded, for the first time in Japan, in manufacturing molybdate red “Chrome-Vermillion" and this announcement attracted the attention of the industry. |

1980 | In order to respond to new demands for tungsten compounds, the Company constructed an MW-2 factory. |
1982 | In order to respond to demands in the industry, the Company expanded the ammonium molybdate factory, and newly constructed a molybdenum trioxide factory. |
1983 | In order to respond to new demands for heteropoly acids, the Company constructed and expanded the manufacturing facilities, and completed a line system. |
1985 | The Company succeeded in developing high-purity molybdenum compounds, and newly constructed a specialized factory. |
1994 | The Company succeeded in developing an inorganic UV blocking agent “Ceriguard” and put it on the market. |
1999 | The Company withdrew from lead chromate inorganic pigment business. |
2001 | The Company sold the inorganic UV blocking agent business to Nippon Denko Co.,Ltd. |
2004 | Corresponding to increasing demands for high qualities, the Company acquired ISO9001:2000. |
